PRESENT POSITION
As senior vice president and technical appraisal manager for Marshall & Stevens Incorporated, Mr. Schoenhut specializes in real estate consulting services and directs all the real estate valuation services for Marshall & Stevens' worldwide. He serves as project manager on major consulting and valuation assignments for our clients. He has appraised various partnership interests and has published several articles. He has also given numerous speeches on appraisal topics.
EXPERIENCE
Active in the appraisal profession since 1964, he has prepared appraisals encompassing most of the major categories of land and buildings for industrial, commercial, governmental, residential, institutional, and educational uses. Mr. Schoenhut has prepared appraisals for purposes of sale/purchase, insurance, rental, financing, income and ad valorem taxes, condemnation, urban planning, allocation of purchase price, estate planning, corporate planning, casualty loss, portfolio management, and liquidation. He has also prepared special purpose studies, such as feasibility (highest and best use), absorption and market time, depreciation, construction estimates and land use.
EMPLOYMENT
Mr. Schoenhut jointed Marshall & Stevens in 1984. He previously worked in mortgage banking and owned his own appraisal related business for 9 years.
EDUCATION
He holds a B.B.A. from the University of New Mexico and an M.B.A. from Rutgers University. Mr. Schoenhut has also taken numerous courses and attended various seminars sponsored by the Appraisal Institute, the Mortgage Bankers Association, the Practicing Law Institute, and other organizations.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
Mr. Schoenhut is a member of the Appraisal Institute and a charter member and certified review appraiser of the National Association of Review Appraisers and Mortgage Underwriters He is a senior member of both the Independent Fee Appraisers and the International Institute of Valuers. He is a real estate associate broker in Pennsylvania (AB 026042 L) and also a Certified General Appraiser in Connecticut (0000551), Delaware (X10000126), Indiana (CG69201392), Maryland (10103), New Jersey (RG 00479), North Carolina (A2943), Pennsylvania (GA 000260 L), South Carolina (C1392), Texas (TX-1325778-G), and Virginia (40001 001621).
COURT TESTIMONY
Mr. Schoenhut has testified before the U.S. District Court in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Dallas, Texas and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; the Lower Merion Zoning and Planning Commission of Pennsylvania; Board of Assessment Review for Canton, Massachusetts; and the Chester County and Delaware County Courts of Common Pleas of Pennsylvania, Montgomery County, Maryland; 269th Judicial Court, Harris County, Texas, and the Condemnation Tribunal in Connecticut.
